Corruption was revealed in the Iranian marine engineering and construction company, and several people were arrested in connection with this fact, Fars agency said Jan.17.
It is reported that a criminal case was prosecuted with regard to the two former officials of the company.
The agency does not report the names and the number of detainees. However, it is reported that detention on the facts of offences and corruption will continue.
It is reported that General Inspection Office of Iran began the checks in the mentioned company.
An investigation in the mentioned company is underway on the fact of disappearance of floating drilling rig worth $87 million, the fact of purchase and use of equipment for the South Pars field and other offences, according to Iranian media.
The mentioned company was founded in 1993 and is engaged in carrying out 70 percent of the work on the South Pars field. The total cost of the projects, implemented by this company, exceeds $11 billion.
