Azerbaijani citizens to be evacuated are already in the Cairo airport and expect a plane of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan, told Trend on Sunday the first secretary of the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Egypt Elnur Ismaylov.
According to Ismaylov, the Ministry' plane is expected to land at Cairo airport at 19:00 local time (22:00 Baku time).
Ismaylov said the number of evacuees Azeri citizens is about 55 people.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Saturday ordered the evacuation of citizens of Azerbaijan from Egypt, due unrest in the country. Instructions in connection with the evacuation were given to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan.
According to recent reports, about 750 people are killed in the riots in Cairo.
