President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev met with the OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier, Kyrgyz presidential press service said on Friday.
"Kyrgyz President Atambayev met with the OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier, who arrived in Bishkek to attend official inauguration of the president," the report says.
Atambayev thanked the guest for attending the inauguration and said that Kyrgyzstan actively cooperates with the OSCE in many directions of cooperation and seeks to make the cooperation more dynamic, KyrTAG reported.
L. Zannier congratulated Atambayev on his election as president.
"It is a very important day for Kyrgyzstan. So I want to congratulate you on behalf of the entire OSCE community. I came to personally fulfill this important mission. I believe that Kyrgyzstan has passed a long way and entered a phase of stability. I am confident that we will further closely cooperate with the Kyrgyz Republic," Zannier said.
In addition, President Atambayev met with the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Robert Blake. During the meeting Atambayev and Blake discussed issues of bilateral cooperation. R. Blake stressed the importance of the event for the further development of the state and handed over a letter of congratulation on behalf of the U.S. President Barack Obama.
Atambayev also met with Prince Karim Aga Khan IV. During the meeting Atambayev thanked the guest for attending the inauguration ceremony.
The head of state stressed that the Aga Khan Fund implements many important and useful programs in Kyrgyzstan - especially in mountainous regions, and expressed the hope that this work will continue.
Prince Karim Aga Khan IV congratulated Atambayev on election as the Kyrgyz president and wished him success in his responsible position.
According to the press office, President Atambayev met with the Mongolian Presidential Administration head Dashamts Batulga. Atambayev said that Kyrgyzstan is interested in developing economic and trade relations with Mongolia on mutually beneficial basis. He also stressed the need for activization of activity of the Kyrgyz-Mongolian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation. D. Batulga on behalf of Mongolian President congratulated Atambayev on his election and wished him success.
