Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / Ali Aliyev, the co-chairman of the Azadlyg bloc and chairman of the Azerbaijani Citizen and Development Party, has stated that the Azadlyg bloc was not invited to the meeting with the representatives from a range of opposition parties, held in the head quarters of the Social Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (SDPA) on 5 June.
The representatives of the SDPA, the Azerbaijani National Independent Party (ANIP), the Open Society Party of Azerbaijan (PO), the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA), the Musavat Party, the Tereggi Party, as well as Eldar Namazov , the political figure attended the meeting.
"We greet the steps of opposition parties to form new unions, to form co-operation. However, our position as Azadlyg bloc exists and three parties are represented in the bloc. Our representation in the other structure will be senseless," Aliyev noted.
Azadlyg bloc unites three parties - the Population Front of Azerbaijan, the Liberal Party of Azerbaijan and the Citizen and Development Party of Azerbaijan.
