A Baku court sentenced a member of an organized gang, accused of an armed attack.
On Nov. 4, the Serious Crime Court sentenced a resident of Baku Vusal Aliyev to 12-year imprisonment in accordance with the Articles 29, 120.2.7(attempt to murder of two or more people) of the Criminal Code.
According to materials of charges, in December 2006 Aliyev took part in an incident between two criminal gangs with weapons. The incident occurred near the Gurd Gapi restaurant in the Sabail district of Baku.
In 2007, the gang members were convicted, but Aliyev avoided investigation and went to Russia and from there to Belarus. He was arrested in 2008 in Minsk and extradited to Azerbaijan.
