Azerbaijan, Sheki / Тrend corr E. Guliyev / Sheki is facing an epidemic threat, for mechanical and biological water purification plants are out of order, the head of public service production association of Sheki, Mammadiyya Azhdarov, reported on 5 September.
Sewerage waters flow to the lower section of the town without being purified and form pools 20- 30 metres of the inhabited locality, according to Azhdarov. Cattle drink this sewerage water.
The town really faces an epidemic threat, according to Sheki Hygiene and Epidemiology Centre. A source at the Sheki Region Executive Power proved that the water purifying plants are out of order.
Sheki is located 320km north-west of Baku.
