BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 19. The majority of goods exported from Russia's Perm territory to Azerbaijan in 2021 were fertilizers, timber and food products, Deputy Head of the Perm Export Support Center Yekaterina Filimonova told Trend.

According to Filimonova, expansion of cooperation between Perm region and Azerbaijan has been designated as one of the most promising activity directions this year.

“The cooperation has been launched after the signing of a number of documents by the governor of our region [Maxim Reshetnikov] in late 2019. Such areas as oil and gas industry, the food industry and agriculture are beginning to show themselves very actively. From January through April 2022, our supplies to Azerbaijan grew by 15 percent," she said.

Filimonova noted that Sveza and Kama LLCs, as well as the Perm House-Building Plant sent 100,000 cubic meters of timber to Azerbaijan.

"Our Support Center is currently working on the export of timber products to Azerbaijan. This sector is in great demand in the Azerbaijani market," Filimonova also noted.

Moreover, Perm businessmen have increased the export of flour, animal feed and flour products.

"Our companies also offer smart solutions for houses to expand their presence in Azerbaijani market. The IT sector is actively trying to enter it and we plan to take part in thematic exhibitions in the future," she added.
