BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 22. The statutory minimum wage (SMW) in Azerbaijan increased by 2.7 times, the average monthly wage – by two times, while the minimum pension – by 2.3 times from 2011 through 2021, Trend reports.

This is stated in the "Socio-economic development strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026".

Over the past ten years, the need criteria used for assigning targeted social assistance to low-income families has been raised by 2.3 times, from 75 manat ($44.16) in 2011 to 170 manat ($100.1) in 2021, the strategy said.

According to the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan, the average monthly nominal wage of Azerbaijani employees grew by 14 percent from January through May 2022 against the same period of 2021 and amounted to 825.3 manat ($485.9).
