BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. The ports of Türkiye received about 4.7 million tons of agricultural products and cattle from January through March of 2023, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.
During this period, the above ports received 237,019 tons of agricultural products and agricultural cattle on ships under the Turkish flag.
"The transportation by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 4.4 million tons," the ministry said.
In the reporting period, these products were not transported in transit from the ports of Türkiye.
Furthermore, the specified ports in March 2023 received 31.9 million tons of cargo.
During this period, cargo traffic to domestic ports on ships under the country's flag amounted to 2.3 million tons, while cargo transportation of ships under the flags of other countries to the Turkish ports reached 29.6 million tons.
In addition, around 6.15 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the mentioned ports in the third month of the current year.
According to the ministry, from January through March of this year, the Turkish ports accepted 91.5 million tons of cargo.
Moreover, in the accounting period, cargo acceptance by vessels under the Turkish flag totaled 6.47 million tons, while by ships under the flags of other countries, cargo transportation to the above ports amounted to 85.8 million tons.
On top of that, according to the ministry, around 18.3 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye during the first quarter of 2023.
