Georgian Green Party Chairman Georgi Gachechiladze protested against advertising alcohol on television channels. He said the advertisements encourage young people to drink.
"For some reason only narcotics are regarded as a harm. But no one mentions alcohol which causes a lot of problems in Georgian society - especially for young people," Gachechiladze said.
The Georgian parliament decided to review a draft law which envisages allowing alcoholic drinks to be advertised only after 22:00.
"These advertisements will increase young people's interest in alcohol. The parliament should not allow this process to continue," he said.
