Some 28 specialists from Azerbaijan have been able to confirm their competency and obtain the international status of project management director this year, Fatima Akhundova, executive director of the Project Management Association, told Trend.
“Some 25 specialists received the status of project management director in Azerbaijan in 2019,” Akhundova added.
"Today, many business entities are switching to a new management format due to the change in the general situation in Azerbaijan in connection with the pandemic and the imposed quarantine regime,” the executive director said. “A new culture of communication is formed in the companies at different levels this way."
Akhundova stressed that the projects that are financed through bank lending or external investments have suffered more during this difficult period for all.
"The Azerbaijan Project Management Association began cooperating with BP oil company and ASAN service at the end of 2019,” the executive director said. “Together with BP and ASAN service, the first project management forum was held in December last year."
Akhundova stressed that during the crisis, many managers and companies began to invest in raising the level of skills and obtaining an international certificate of IPMA / AzPMA project management director.
“An international certificate certainly increases competitive advantages in the local and international labor markets,” the executive director added.
Azerbaijan Project Management Association (AzPMA) is the national International Project Management Association (IPMA) in Azerbaijan, as well as the only official body in international certification.
Azerbaijan Project Management Association is a non-governmental public organization. It holds an active position in the market of intellectual services in the field of modern project management technologies and company development. It was founded in 1999 in Baku and has implemented a number of successful projects during its 20-year history.
