Saudi Arabia to support export of agricultural products from Uzbekistan’s Bukhara to Russia

An entrepreneur from Saudi Arabia, Khuzaif Amiin, expressed his readiness to organize a representative office of Russian Denezhkin Stone (Money stone) trading house in Uzbekistan’s Bukhara and export agricultural products to Russia, Trend reports referring to UzA.uz.

During his visit to Uzbekistan, Khuzaif Amiin said that he is also ready to organize an advertising campaign broadcast on Russian TV channels, to establish the activities of the Islamic Bank in Bukhara.

Also, Amiin got acquainted with the innovative method of growing potatoes in Bukhara. The investor will import the seeds mainly from Holland using drip irrigation technology from Saudi Arabia. The yield is expected to range from 40 to 60 tons per hectare.

The entrepreneur intends to invest $2.4 million in this project.

“The needs of the region for the import of potatoes will be covered by internal reserves with the implementation of this project,” the governor of the Bukhara region Botir Zaripov said.

Earlier during the recent visit of the government delegation of Uzbekistan to the United Arab Emirates, the Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al-Nahyan noted the broad opportunities for further expansion of cooperation through the implementation of new joint projects in the fields of agriculture, telecommunications, health care, tourism, production of building materials and financial services.
