“Owners of the transport conveyances will be awarded differential signs by the Transport Ministry,” Zaur Fatizade, the head of the Department for Organization of Registration at the Ministry of Taxes, told Trend. In compliance with the presidential decree on adoption of changes and supplements to the Tax Code, the Azerbaijani Transport Ministry is in charge of collection of road taxes and taxes from the passenger carriers, as well as awarding them differential signs. It actually put an end to the debates between the Transport Ministry and the Executive Power, which could not agree upon an authorization of collection of road taxes and awarding of differential signs.
The wrangling issues were the key reasons delaying the adoption of the Rules on attraction of transport conveyances to taxation which are still under the consideration of the government. Through injecting the differential signs the taxation of the transport conveyances will be carried out not depending of their circulation, but the seats and carrying capacity. Today they pay taxes through simplified system. In Baku it comprises 4% of three-month circulation of automobiles, while in the regions вЂ" 2%. Only taxi drivers are to pay 8% of the circulation.
Musayev assures that the application of the new taxation system will enable to remove the discrimination and reveal those evading from tax payment. The government did it with regard to ensure right registration of transport conveyances.
Following the attraction of automobile conveyances to taxation next year 12bn manats will be allocated out of the public budget.
