Japan halted liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) import from Iran, but other clients compensated that by purchasing all of Iranian LPG stockpile, said Ahmad Mahdavi, secretary of the Association Of Iranian Petrochemical Industries Union.
"Iran has not even one ton of unsold LPG," he told Mehr on June 8.
Coming to the reason of stopping the Japan's LPG import from Iran, Mahdavi said that Japanese are the most cautious clients of Iran, as they do not risk to import Iran's LPG, because of sanctions.
Sanctions on Iran was lifted in mid-January, but the process of normalizing the oily-related deals with Iran continues.
Mahdavi said that one of the challenges in route of LPG export was the shipping issue, but the clients have started shipping Iran's LPG themselves.
Iran has capacity to export 5 million tones of LPG (liquefied butane and propane) annually, Iranian government says.
