The Environmental Protection Organization of Iran has issued a license for the construction of two steam units in the Soltaniyeh Thermal Power Plant in the Zanjan Province (western Iran), which can generated a total of 320 megawatt hours of electricity, Trend reports citing Iran’s Thermal Power Plant Holding Company’s website.

Thus, the electricity generation capacity of Soltaniyeh TPP will reach 968 megawatt-hours.

In addition to increase the electricity generation capacity, the construction of steam units will increase efficiency and significantly save fuel in the thermal power plant.

Reportedly, the Soltaniye TPP is located on the 44 hectares of land, 25 km from the Qazvin-Zanjan highway. There are 4 gas units with a capacity to generate 162 megawatt-hours of electricity each, operating in this power plant.
