BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. Natural gas accounted for 35.34 percent of Azerbaijan’s total exports from January through April 2022, versus 17.78 percent in the same period in 2021, Trend reports with reference to the State Customs Committee.

Azerbaijan reduced natural gas exports by 7.7 percent from January through April 2022 as compared to the same period in 2021, with total volume of exports falling from 7.837 billion cubic meters (bcm) to 7.233 bcm,

The value of gas exports rose by almost 3.7 times from $1.131 billion in the first four months of 2021 to $4.178 billion in the same period in 2022.

Azerbaijan’s gas exports to Europe began on December 31, 2020 with the commissioning of the Southern Gas Corridor comprising of the South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion, the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) and the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).
