BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 14. Azerbaijan increased its production of marketable gas by 2.9 percent from January through May 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, Trend reports.
Azerbaijan’s natural gas output in the first five months of 2023 reached 20.2 billion cubic meters, including 15.302 billion cubic meters of marketable gas. The production of natural gas increased by 2.9 percent year-on-year.
State Statistical Committee reveals that Azerbaijan produced nearly 12.761 million tons of crude oil, including condensate, from January through May 2023, of which nearly 12.729 million tons accounted for marketable oil. As such, Azerbaijan reduced its production of crude oil, including condensate, by 8.4 percent year-on-year. The production of marketable oil also dropped by 8.4 percent over the year.
In the first five months of 2023, Azerbaijan exported natural gas to Europe (4.8 billion cubic meters), Türkiye (4.3 billion cubic meters), and Georgia (1.2 billion cubic meters). During the reporting period, 2.4 billion cubic meters of gas were exported to Türkiye via the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP). This is while oil exports stood at 10.6 million tons.
