Weekly sales at Iran Energy Exchange increase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 3. The value of total sales at the Iran Energy Exchange (IRENEX) increased by 25 percent during the last Iranian week (August 26 through August 30, 2023), compared to the previous week (August 19 through August 23, 2023), Trend reports.

According to the report, the value of total sales at the IRENEX for the last week amounted to 40.8 trillion rials (about $98.8 million). The figure stood at 32.6 trillion rials (about $79 million) in the previous week.

Last week, 177,000 tons of hydrocarbon products worth 40.5 trillion rials (about $98 million) were sold at the Iran Energy Exchange, of which accounted for 99.3 percent of total sales at the IRENEX.

The main hydrocarbon products sold at the country’s energy exchange were liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), white oil, iso-recycle, etc.

Also, 3.17 million kilowatts of electricity worth 3.1 billion rials (about $7,500) were sold at IRENEX within the mentioned period.

At the same time, Standard Parallel Salaf (an Islamic contract similar to futures) documents worth 287 billion rials (about $695,000) were also sold at the energy exchange.

The products at Iran Energy Exchange (IRENEX) are sold at the SANA exchange rate.

SANA system is a system introduced by the Central Bank of Iran to the currency exchange offices, where the price of 1 euro is 444,896 rials and the price of $1 is 412,869 rials.
