Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / The President of Romania, Trayan Basesku, received the President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Rovnak Abdullayev, a source stated in SOCAR on 13 July.
"I am prepared to create every assistance for the effective activity of SOCAR in Romania," Basesku said.
According to him, Romania attaches a great importance in its relations with Azerbaijan. The President of Romania highlighted the important role of the Republic in the energy security of Europe.
In reply, Abdullayev said that SOCAR will play a significant role in expanding co-operation between Azerbaijan and Romania. In addition, Abdullayev reported on the opening of the SOCAR representative office in Romania and said that relations with Romania, which is a member to the European Union, are of a strategic nature.
