Around 724 transmission towers have been damaged as a result of floods in Iran's Khuzestan province, however, the power stations are not in danger there, said the managing director of Khuzestan Regional Electric Company Mahmoud Dasht-e-Bozorg.
"Nothing serious is threatening these power towers, but if rainfalls intensify and water outflow of dams increases, it will possibly cause heavy wind that will damage the systems," Trend reports citing IRNA.
Flood and storm on March 25 have crashed four electric distribution towers in Chamran city in Mahshahr district that caused power cut, However, the problem was solved by substituting another overhead power line," he added.
The official noted the flood has caused damages amounting to $1.1 million in the province.
"Telecommunication centers, hospitals, water and sewage companies should be equipped with diesel generator to avoid power cut," he said.
