TEHRAN, Iran, April 6. Iran is pursuing to
establish a dry port at Miandoab County in its West Azerbaijan
Province, to accelerate cargo transit and export in the area, said
the Acting Governor of Miandoab County Ali Payam, Trend reports citing
IRNA.
"The representatives of Miandoab Country in Iran's parliament are
seeking to get this important project off the ground," he said.
According to the official, the dry port will have the efficiency
of a free trade zone and would be near an airport, railway, and
other communications for export and cargo transit.
The dry port is expected to help agriculture and animal farming in
the county move goods.
