BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 14. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) decreased by 30 percent in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 23 through August 22, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, about 128,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the 5th month. Of this, about 112,000 tons were loaded and 15,800 tons were unloaded.
Furthermore, 59,600 tons of cargo were exported and 7,320 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port over the reporting month.
Within the 5th month, 822 tons of cargo were loaded and 2,000 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.
According to the statistics, 51,300 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for cabotage, as well as, 71 tons of cargo were loaded, while 6,480 tons were unloaded for other purposes during the 5th month.
“About 47,000 tons of essential products, 2,700 tons of metal products, 25,500 tons of construction and mining materials, 3,460 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port in the 5th month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.
Moreover, 41 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 5 tons of small and assorted goods, about 6,560 tons of container products, and 42,500 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.
In general, about 12.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 5th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, about 6.4 million tons were loaded and about 6.1 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 6 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
