BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 23. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Bushehr port in the Bushehr Province (southern Iran) increased by 1.98 percent over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
More than 4.42 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at this port over the reporting month. Of this, 2.37 million tons were loaded and 2.05 million tons were unloaded.
Last year, 2.3 million tons of cargo were exported and approximately 718,000 tons were imported through the Bushehr port.
At the same time, 6,320 tons of cargo were loaded and 4,160 tons were unloaded at the port for transit, as well as 30,300 tons were loaded and about 1.33 million tons were unloaded for cabotage for the reporting period.
In addition, 35,500 tons of cargo were loaded and 1,130 tons were unloaded at the port for other purposes during the last Iranian year.
About 155,000 tons of essential products, 5,690 tons of metal products, 1.87 million tons of construction and mining materials, and 40,900 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Bushehr port in the last Iranian year.
Moreover, 1,030 tons of chemicals, 28,200 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 6,410 tons of small and assorted goods, 556,000 tons of container products, and 1.76 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.
Overall, approximately 152 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports over the last Iranian year. Of that, about 80 million tons were loaded and 71.7 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 1.7 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year.
