ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 20. Kazakhstan became the second largest oil supplier to Greece in the first half of 2023 with a share of 24 percent as a result of restructuring of the European energy market, Trend reports.
This was stated during a meeting between the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Greece Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev and the Chairman of the Center for Planning and Economic Research of Greece, Panagiotis Liargovas.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the state of bilateral trade and issues of improving mechanisms for implementing economic cooperation between the two countries.
Liargovos noted that he intends to strengthen interaction with Kazakh economic institutions in order to conduct practical research. Research will be aimed at ensuring long-term and sustainable development of trade and economic relations between Kazakhstan and Greece.
In turn, the ambassador introduced the interlocutor to the new economic policy of Kazakhstan and the progress of cooperation with the EU in the field of energy, transport and sustainable development.
Moreover, the parties discussed measures to diversify bilateral trade between Kazakhstan and Greece, with an emphasis on industrial and regional economic interaction.
Center for Planning and Economic Research, under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Greece, is the largest and oldest "think tank" that advises the government of the country on issues of foreign and domestic economic policy.
