BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 27. Tajikistan's exports of goods to Uzbekistan reached $179.5 million in 2022, Trend reports citing the Customs Service of Tajikistan.
According to statistics, the value of Tajik exports to Uzbekistan during the last year increased by 41.7 percent compared to 2021 ($126.6 million).
During last year, Tajikistan was the main supplier of cement to the neighboring Uzbekistan. In total, Tajikistan exported to Uzbekistan 965,280 tons of cement for $29.7 million in 2022.
Among other Tajikistan's export commodities to Uzbekistan in 2022 were electricity ($33.4 million), aluminum ($31.4 million), cotton fiber $17.4 million.
Furthermore, Uzbekistan imported from Tajikistan 29,602 tons of zinc ores and concentrates worth $30.8 million last year.
Today, favorable opportunities are opening up for expanding trade and economic Tajikistan-Uzbekistan partnership. Tajikistan's trade turnover with Uzbekistan reached $674.4 million in 2022, which is an increase of 11.3 percent compared to 2021 ($605.6 million).
