Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said the pressures of hegemonic powers should not divert the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) from its main route of activities, IRNA reported.

He made the remarks here Tuesday in reaction to the recent remarks of IAEA chief Yukia Amano.

Talking to reporters during his weekly press briefing, he stressed that "it was all clear that such remarks which carried double meanings or were ambiguous were uttered under political pressures".

He said Iran has repeatedly stressed the peaceful nature of its nuclear activities which were undertaken within the IAEA and NPT regulations.

Mehmanparast said such activities were the right of Iran and all other countries which were abiding by the IAEA rules.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman further stressed that all IAEA reports have so far indicated that Iran's nuclear program never deviated from its peaceful objectives.
