In Turkey, the number of passengers carried by air transport decreased by 3.3 percent in January-June 2019, compared to the same period of 2018, and amounted to over 94,668,170 people, Trend reports referring to Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
In January-June 2019, the share of passenger transportation by domestic flights accounted for 49,465,315 million people, which is 12.3 percent less compared to January-June 2018.
However, the share of international flights accounted for over 45,202,855 million passengers, which is 9 percent more compared to the same period of 2018.
According to the ministry, in January-June 2019, Turkey's three main airports (except for new Istanbul airport), Sabiha Gokcen Airport, Esenboga Airport and Antalya Airport, carried a total of 37.193 million passengers.
