A Turkmen government delegation is travelling to Tokyo to attend the next meeting of the joint venture with Japan's economic cooperation committee which will be held on July 19, an official Turkmen source said on Tuesday.
President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov noted the ongoing dynamics of trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan and wide range of areas successfully developing, including that of the traditional supply of powerful trucking, construction and other specialised equipment from Japanese producers.
"Today the Turkmen-Japanese mutually beneficial partnership is filling with new concrete proposals," the Turkmen leader said.
In a recent message of Prime Minister of Japan Yoshihiko Noda, addressed to the President of Turkmenistan on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries, he said that Japan's high technology and rich natural resources of Turkmenistan are complimentary.
The official visit of Berdymuhamedov to Japan in 2009 during which a number of intergovernmental agreements and contracts with Japanese companies were signed, gave additional impetus to the bilateral relations.
Such companies as Mitsubishi, Kawasaki, Sojitz, Itochu Corporation and JGC, Toyota Corporation and the Marubeni Corporation expressed interest in cooperating with Turkmenistan.
Japanese companies are represented here in such industries as the oil and gas sector, transport and communications, construction, healthcare and water management.
