The joint venture established by State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Foster Wheeler is ready to participate in oil and gas projects in Azerbaijan. the Chief Operating Officer and President of Foster Wheeler Umberto della Sala said in Baku during a reception in the frame of the forum on the establishment of a new complex for oil and gas processing and production of petrochemical products in Azerbaijan (OGPC).

Umberto della Sala said the process of creating a joint venture is fully completed and the company is ready to begin its work.

He noted the high level of organization of this forum during his speech.

JV with State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is focused on ensuring a long term partnership in improving the engineering potential and level of training of local personnel, CEO Foster Wheeler Italiana Group Marco Moresko said earlier

"The joint venture will actively participate in the training of Azerbaijani engineers both locally and in Milan," Moresko said.

It will be possible to create a separate world class engineering company on the basis of these personnel, Moresko added.

The JV SOCAR and Foster Wheeler partnership has been created to oversee the construction project at the Azerbaijan complex of oil and gas processing and production of petrochemical products. It was established on the basis of the Italian division of the Institute, and Foster Wheeler Neftgaztyadgigatlayihya.

The purpose of the joint venture with Foster Wheeler which is part of the world's top three engineering design firms is to increase the skills level of Azerbaijani specialists.

"The number of employees in joint ventures will increase to 300 by 2015 and by that time will be represented only by local staff," Moresko said.

The Forum aims to provide information on the Project to a wide range of companies, including potential licensors, engineering, supply, construction and other contractors, process consultants, world's leading refining and petrochemical equipment manufacturers, as well as financial institutions, legal experts, environmental consultants, buyers of petroleum and petrochemical products, service companies, etc.

Alongside providing information on the Project, the Forum offers a unique chance for leading international companies to present, at a high-official level, their experience, technology, resources and innovative solutions in the refining, gas processing and petrochemical sectors.
