Azerbaijan, Baku, June 3 / Trend, N. Ismayilova /
The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and the National Company of Kazakhstan (KMG) will announce an international tender to determine a contractor to prepare a feasibility study on Trans-Caspian oil transport systems. SOCAR Deputy Vice president Vitaly Beylarbeyov announced the tender June 7 at the Seventeenth International Caspian Oil and Gas Conference in Baku.
Oil via the system will be transported from the Kazak Kashagan, Karachaganak and Tengiz fields to Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) Pipeline or other transportation systems, Beylarbeyov said.
The Tran-Caspian system is being built to transport oil from Kazakhstan via Azerbaijan to the Mediterranean through the BTC, the railway, or building a new oil pipeline.
The system's capacity will be 23 million tons per year.
