Turkmen President to visit Turkey

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov will visit Turkey in February, state news agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) said on Saturday.

It became known on the outcome of a telephone conversation between Turkmen President Berdymuhamedov and President of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gul.
Gul invited the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov to visit the Republic of Turkey this month, the report said.

The exact terms of the visit will be agreed through diplomatic channels in accordance with the agreements of the parties.

During the meeting, the President of Turkey congratulated Berdymukhamedov leader with a victory on the presidential election, and wished every success in a responsible government posts.

Highly appreciating the Turkmen-Turkish dialogue, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in view of previous agreements and the huge potential of cooperation.

Affirming the commitment of the parties to continue to develop friendship and cooperation, Gul and Berdymuhamedov agreed approaches to the further strengthening of the traditional intergovernmental dialogue based on the huge economic potential.
Appreciating the prospects of Turkmen-Turkish relations in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, the sides noted the desire of the two friendly countries to implement new joint projects that serve the prosperity and well-being of the peoples of the region.

Ankara has expressed interest in the delivery of Caspian energy to Europe through the Caspian Sea and Turkey. Ashgabat, in turn, wants to involve Turkish companies to the construction of the Caspian Sea resort Avaza.
