Sixty kilograms of a remote-controlled explosive have been found on the Mush-Bingöl railroad,Turkey, today, The Vatan newspaper reported.

The explosive has been reportedly defused.

In early October, the Turkish security forces launched an operation to arrest members of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), suspected of committing terrorist attacks.

On Sept. 22, a PKK militant wing, the Kurdistan Liberation Hawks (TAK) radical group, claimed responsibility for the attack on Ankara which left three people dead and 34 injured.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which has continued for more than 25 years, put an end to lives of over 40,000 people. PKK is recognized as terrorist organization by the UN and the EU.

PKK militants have previously threatened Turkish authorities with intensified armed conflict if concrete steps are not taken to address long-term Kurdish problem.
