Georgia is actively preparing for signing an association agreement with the European Union.
Georgian government is conducting intensive preparations for signing the document, Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze said at a press conference on March 19.
"Our goal is to sign this agreement as soon as possible," Panjikidze said.
The minister stressed that the process of drawing up the association's agenda is being completed and the work on its text will be finalized before late March.
The minister also highlighted the progress achieved in the liberalization of visa regime with the EU.
"Georgia is completing the first phase of the action plan, and an assessment mission of experts from the European Commission will arrive in Tbilisi in early April," she said.
Panjikidze said she hopes that this year Georgia will move into the second phase of the action plan - the phase of implementation.
