Trend R.Agayev / The Foreign Ministry of Russia does not see
necessity to recognize or not to recognize the document on ceasefire, signed
by the Georgian side, official of Russia's Foreign Ministry, Boris Malakhov,
said on 11 August.
"Withdrawal of troops, ceasefire is the necessary prerequisites for the recognition
of document on ceasefire," Malakhov said.
According to Malakhov, for recognition of document by Russia, the Georgian side must free the territory of South Ossetia and take the troops up to the specific distance from the borders of South Ossetia. Otherwise Russia will not take into consideration the document.
