Improving relations with Euro-Atlantic structures, guaranteeing energy security, forming a single economic market, fighting terrorism and organized crime, and developing democratic institutions - such were the conclusions reflected in the communiques issued at the end of the fourth meeting of the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly in Tbilisi today.
GUAM ended its two-day conference at the Sheraton Metechi Palace with two resolutions and two communiques.
The resolutions cover GUAM activities and the participation of GUAM representatives in the presidential election in Ukraine as observers.
The conference ended with with a summary press conference.
According to MP Vano Khukhunaishvili, the conference resulted in a development plan urging the advancement of GUAM's parliamentary component.
"Our goal is to strengthen cooperation at the state level with a parliamentary component," the MP said. "Tomorrow we will have a meeting of GUAM interior ministers. A specific project will be adopted at this meeting."
The next GUAM meeting will reportedly be held in Moldova.
