Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr I. Alizadeh / Preparations for the visit of Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to Azerbaijan are in progress, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister, Khalaf Khalafov, reported at a press conference on 22 June.
According to Khalafov, during the meeting in Teheran held within the framework of the conference of Foreign Ministers of the Caspian countries, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, Elmar Mammadyarov, discussed with Iranian officials the visit of Ahmadinejad to Azerbaijan.
"For organization of the visit we have plans to hold the meeting of Iranian-Azerbaijani Inter-Governmental Commission in economic, commercial, and humanitarian fields. We have coordinated lots of issues. With participation of Azerbaijani Ministries and organizations certain projects have been developed and submitted to the Iranian side. Meeting of the Commission will be held before the visit," Khalafov noted.
The Deputy Minister noted that the date of the visit had not been fixed yet. The Iranian side informed of Ahmadinejad's readiness to pay a visit to Azerbaijan.
