Azerbaijani president attends opening of Goychay hydroelectric power station

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of "Goychay" hydroelectric power station on Oct.6.

Azerenerji President Etibar Pirverdiyev informed the president about the main components of the 3.1MW power station, the foundation stone of which was laid by President Ilham Aliyev in February, 2010.

President Ilham Aliyev launched the power station.

The facility will produce 20 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, which makes 25 percent of Goychay district`s need. The station occupies a total area of five hectares.

Three hydroelectric aggregates with 1.03MW capacity each, a water sensor, a pressure forebay with a capacity of 4,500 cubic meters and three pressure installations each 28.4m in height were built there.
