Azerbaijani Culture Week successfully ends in Paris

Eleonora Huseynova the Extraordinary and plenipotentiary Ambassador of Azerbaijan to France, exclusive informed Trend that a week on Azerbaijan: Crossroads of Civilizations and Cultures' has successfully ended in Paris.

A gala-concert entitled "Dialogue of cultures: from folk to modern rhythms" was held with the participation of popular creative bands and soloists. The dance ensembles, vocalists and instrumental groups all swapped with each other during the concert, presenting all aspects of music to the audience, in the finale, the diplomat stressed.

The General Director of UNESCO, Kontiro Matzuura, praised Azerbaijan's contribution in the preservation of the world culture heritage. The head of the international organization stressed that the reforms are maintained in the education sector, work on rehabilitating the Great Silk Route and the creation of the World Mugam Center.

Mehriban Aliyeva, the Goodwill Ambassador for UNESCO made a presentation in Paris of the Country's projects within the humanitarian sector. She spoke about the children protection program, support given to refugees and spreading tolerance within the society.

The development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNESCO will be discussed in a private meeting of UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva with the General Director of the organization, Huseynova stressed.

The week was held in connection with the jubilee of the organization. It was decided to hold 60 thematic weeks, while the 58th week was dedicated to Azerbaijan. The week started on 16 October with the opening of one of a photo-exhibition in one of the exhibition saloons of UNESCO dedicated to Azerbaijan and ended with a gala-concert.
