( news.sawf.org ) - Prince William and Kate Middleton are reported to have reached an "amicable agreement" to end their four year relationship because of the huge pressures on them and the Prince's career in the army. It is being reported that the couple began to drift apart once Prince William embarked on his Army career after passing out of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in December last year.
The Sun quotes a close friend of the couple as saying: "As far as Kate is concerned, William simply hasn't been paying her enough attention.
"She is stuck in London while he is living in an officer's mess in Dorset. Kate feels hugely frustrated that their relationship just seems to be going backwards at a rate of knots. "At university they were living together. Now, nearly three years on, they are lucky if they see each other once a week. "When he does get a night off, it appears to Kate that William would rather spend time drinking with his new-found Army pals."
It is believed the 24-year-old Prince does not want to be rushed into a commitment. There have been reports of his straying from the straight and narrow.
Last month, while partying with Army colleagues, the Prince is reported to have grabbed the breast of a Brazilian student as he slipped his hand around her. On the same wild night he brought another girl home for a night cap. She is reported to have left at 4.15am.
William and Kate first met in 2001 at Scotland's St Andrews University during Prince William's first year there. Their relationship became public knowledge when The Sun published pictures of them skiing in Klosters with the rest of the Royals. William's Clarence House office declined to comment, on their reported split saying it did not discuss the Prince's private life.
