Kazakhstan increases volume of cereal cultivation

Some 713,400 ha in Kazakhstan are cultivated with cereal crops, which exceeds the volume of the same period of last year by 1.2 percent, Trend reports with reference to Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.

The largest area is cultivated in Almaty region (204,600 ha, 57.6 percent of plan), Jambyl Region (191,500 ha, 103.6 percent) and East Kazakhstan Region (111,300 ha, 19.9 percent).

Across Kazakhstan, the volume of sowing of corn for grain amounts to 43,800 ha (29 percent of the plan).

Furthermore, oil crops amount to 356,700 ha (12.5 percent of the plan).
