BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 4. The trade turnover between Russian Chuvash Republic and Azerbaijan in 2021 increased, Grigory Danilov, head of the Chuvash Center for Export Support, told Trend.
According to Danilov, this figure amounted to $4.8 million, which is 4.3 percent more than in 2020.
He said that the entire bilateral trade accounted for the export of the Russian region, and there was almost no direct import from Azerbaijan in the reporting year.
"The main products exported by our republic to Azerbaijan included confectionery - 38.4 percent, interior doors - 28.3 percent, plant protection products - 13.3 percent, machines and mechanisms (plumbing fittings, construction equipment, commercial equipment and their parts ) - 4.5 percent,” the center’s head noted.
Besides, according to him, four percent of the export fell on road transport means (caterpillar tractors and spare parts for them), 2.4 percent - sports equipment, 1.6 percent - cotton yarn fabrics, and 1.5 percent - hop cones.
Danilov also noted that the main exporting companies of the above products were Akkond JSC, Geona LLC, Cheboksary Door Factory Plus LLC, August Firm JSC, Grand Armatura Group LLC, Promtractor JSC, Frosto LLC, Romana LLC, and Chuvashkhmelprom OJSC.
"Azerbaijan ranks 22nd in terms of trade among trade partners of the Chuvash Republic with a share of 0.7 percent in bilateral trade, and 13th among the countries importing products of the Chuvash Republic with a share of 1.6 percent in Chuvash exports," he added.
