BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 30. Azerbaijan's SOCAR Polymer has increased its product export by 25.7 percent from January through March 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, Azerbaijan's Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication told Trend.
During the reporting period, SOCAR Polymer became one of the export leaders of the state sector. Exports of the company's products totaled $60.6 million in the first quarter of 2022, up by $12.4 million against the same period in 2021.
The construction of SOCAR Polymer plants has become the first large-scale project of the country's petrochemical industry over the past 40 years.
The company’s production facilities consisting of polypropylene (PP) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plants are located on the territory of the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park (SCIP). The PP and HDPE plants were put into operations in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
