BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 19. Azerbaijan increased the manufacturing volume of chemical products from January through August 2022, Trend reports referring to the State Customs Committee.
According to the committee, this figure amounted to 606,162 tons, up by 270,795 tons (80.75 percent) on annual basis.
The manufacturing value of chemical products in Azerbaijan in the first eight months of this year equaled $262.35 million, which is 174,160 manat or $102,450 (almost three times) more than in the same period of 2021.
Besides, according to the committee, in the reporting period, 75,815 tons of polyethylene were produced in the country, which is 14,787 tons (16.3 percent) less than in the same period of 2021, and polypropylene production volume grew by 11,900 tons (20.9 percent) - up to 45,020 tons.
Meanwhile, the production volume of nitrogen fertilizers amounted to 242,933 tons, which is 87.9 percent or 113,644 tons more than from January through August last year.
