BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 25. A total of 211,740 tons of methanol (methyl alcohol) worth $46.9 million were exported from Azerbaijan from January through June 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, this is 34 percent less in value and nine percent less in quantitative terms compared to the same period in 2022.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 57,420 tons (a decrease of 15.5 percent) worth $12.8 million (a decrease of 41.4 percent) to Turkey, 45,290 tons (a decrease of 29 percent) worth $10 million (a decrease of 4 percent) to Romania, 31,160 tons (an increase of 38 percent) worth $6.9 million to Italy, 24,700 tons (a decrease of 61 percent) in the amount of $5.4 million (a decrease of 71 percent) to the Netherlands, and 24,640 tons in the amount of $5.1 million (no deliveries were carried out before) to Latvia.
In addition, after a break of three years and five months, 3,980 tons of methanol worth $797,500 were exported from Azerbaijan in the reporting period.
In general, Azerbaijan produced 534,500 tons of methanol in 2022.
