BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 21. The total public debt in Azerbaijan is estimated to amount to 31.4 billion manat ($18.5 billion) by the end of 2027, Trend reports.

This is stated in the document "Preliminary indicators of the state and consolidated budgets for 2024" prepared by the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan.

The document notes that taking into account the payments of the main debt that will be made on the external public debt during 2024-2027, as well as payments under existing and newly signed loan agreements, the volume of external public debt by the end of 2027 is projected to amount to $5.4 billion (6.8 percent) of GDP.

It is expected that as a result of the issuance of new government bonds to finance the state budget deficit in 2024-2027, the inclusion of state-guaranteed obligations of Aqrarkredit CJSC in the state debt, the domestic state debt at the end of 2027 will amount to 22.2 billion manat ($13.1 billion), or 16.4 percent of GDP.

In general, the total public debt is projected at 31.4 billion manat ($18.5 billion), or 23.2 percent of GDP at the end of 2027.
