BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 13. Turkish ports received 33.7 million tons of cargo in October 2023, Trend reports.
The Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure reported that cargo flow to domestic ports on ships flying the Turkish flag totaled 2.4 million tons during this time period.
"Cargo transportation of vessels under the flags of other countries to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 31.3 million tons," the ministry stated in a statement.
Furthermore, Turkish ports handled 5.3 million tons of transit goods in October 2023.
According to the ministry, Türkiye's ports received 326.3 million tons of cargo during January to October 2023.
"Cargo acceptance by vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 24.2 million tons from January through October 2023. Moreover, cargo transportation to the ports of Türkiye by vessels under the flags of other countries amounted to 302.1 million tons," the ministry said.
Furthermore, 56.9 million tons of transit cargo were handled by Turkish ports from January through October 2023.
In general, the ports of Türkiye received 5,581 vessels in October of this year.
The number of accepted vessels under the flags of other countries during this period amounted to 3,764, and under the flag of Türkiye - 817,000.
The Turkish ports received 51,186 vessels, including 34,822 under the flags of other countries and 16,364 under the Turkish flag, from January through October 2023.
Türkiye's ports received 394.09 million tons of cargo in 2022.
