Azerbaijan's foreign trade increases

In January-June 2011, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover with 139 countries comprised $17.463 billion or an increase of 32.62 percent compared to January-June 2010, State Customs Committee reported.

The black ink of import-export operations amounted to $8.747bln.

In total, 5,341 legal entities (2,931) and physical entities (2,410) participated in the foreign trade operations.

The amount of export increased by 27.78% as compared to last year and comprised $13,092bln
The share of public sector in exports made up $12.489bln (95.39%), private sector held $0.525bln (4.01%). The share of export operations by physical entities comprised $77.75mln (0.59%).

The import increased 49.72%, totaling $4.344bln

In the import operations, 36.49 percent or $1.585 billion accounted for the public sector, 58.79 percent or $2.554 billion - private and 4.72 percent or $205.47 million - the share of individuals.
