International tobacco company opens office in Georgia

International tobacco company "Imperial tobacco" opens its representative office in Tbilisi. The establishment ceremony will be held on Thursday, which will be attended by representatives of the Georgian government and the diplomatic corps.
"Imperial tobacco" is a world leader in tobacco production and produces cigarettes, cigars, and a special cigarette paper. It has offices in 160 countries around the world, owns about 50 enterprises. The company employs over 38,000 people.
The company was founded in 1901. In 1996, it was registered at the London Stock Exchange. Its leading brands are Davidoff, Gauloises Blonde, West, JPS and Route 66.
In 2011, Georgia imported tobacco products worth $110 million. Some 1.8 million of the 4.3 million inhabitants of the country are smokers.
