New project launched at Uzbek free economic zone

The joint venture "Green Line Profile" was put into operation at the Navoi free economic zone of Uzbekistan for production of aluminum profiles of various types and sizes, Uzstroymaterialy said in a message on Jan.17.

The cost of the project is $32.5 million. The project was financed at the expense of the company's own funds - $ 22.2 million, foreign direct investment - $ 5 million, as well as bank loans - $ 8 million.

The annual production capacity is 35,000 tons of aluminum profiles. About 80 percent of the production is planned to be exported.

With the full launch of the production, it is planned to create 221 workplaces. At the moment, 44 new jobs have been created.

Today, three free economic zones successfully operate in Uzbekistan: Navoi in Navoi region, which was established in December 2008, Angren in Tashkent region, established in April 2012, and Djizak, which opened in March 2013 .
