Iran’s Chabahar Port, which is strategic and having access to ocean, has good investment opportunities and can bring in profits, ports and maritime director general of Iran’s Sistan and Baluchistan province Behrooz Aghaei said, IRNA reported.

He said that investments can be made in the construction of indoor warehouses, container storage facilities, special transit terminals, oil swap, laying oil pipelines to petrochemical plants and building depots.

He noted that the Chabahar Port will be one of the major gates in the future for the import of Iranian products.

Considering this, investor participation in the construction of the next blocks of the port is appropriate, he added.

“The Chabahar Port is a bridge for the Indian goods transit to Afghanistan, and ships in this direction reach the target for less than three days,” he said.

He added that the goal of establishing transport links with the target countries can play a key role in trade facilitation and transit development between Asia, Europe and the countries of the region.

Foreign ships of international companies may benefit from a 90 percent discount for three months, a 70 percent discount for the next three months, and a 30 percent discount for the next six months for the THC (Terminal Handling Charges) at the Shahid Beheshti port of Chabahar, he said.

“Fees and harbor costs at the Shahid Beheshti port of Chabahar are the lowest in the Persian Gulf and Sea of Oman,” he added.
